Literacy:Unit One: At Home (Fiction) Enabling Objectives: - Answer questions about who lives with us and what they like to do.
- Say what might happen next in the story.
- Read print from left to right and top to bottom.
- Hold a pencil firmly to draw clear lines connecting questions and answers.
- Talk about events in the story.
- Talk about how the main character is feeling and what it does in the story.
- Use phonics to help us work out unfamiliar words.
- Know that ‘oo' is a common spelling for the sound /oo/.
- Know that names start with capital letters.
Maths: Unit 1 Enabling Objectives:
- Recognize, count, read, write, compare and order number to 50.
- Identify the number of tens and ones in a two-digit number up to 50.
- Recognize and use the inequality signs >,< or =.
- Apply knowledge of place value to solve simple problems.
- Recall addition and subtraction facts to 20.
- Identify all four addition and subtraction calculations from a number 'trio'.
- Write the inverse calculation for a given addition or subtraction calculation.
- Check an addition or subtraction calculation using the inverse operation.
- Understand that addition of two numbers can be done in any order and subtraction of one number from another cannot.
- Understand subtraction as 'finding the difference'.
